What started with a teacher at Bacchus Marsh Grammar testing positive to COVID19 has now resulted in 9 infections.

8 teachers and one student from the school has now returned positive test results.

At this stage, the DHHS are reporting there are 4 active cases in the Moorabool Shire, 7 in Wyndham and 4 in Geelong.

With Victoria two days into a 5 day lockdown, the hope of ending the lockdown on Tuesday as planned increasingly unlikely.

The current outbreak has resulted in 43 cases throughout Victoria with people flooding testing centers throughout the day.

Testing centres at Melton and Bacchus Marsh were both turning vehicles away today as the demand for testing increases day on day.

It comes as a Bacchus Marsh service station has posted news they they had an infectious case visited the store between 12:50pm and 1:30pm on July 14.

The post on the BP Bacchus Marsh / Maddingley Express Facebook page said, “To our customers and community. We have just been informed that an infectious person (confirmed covid case) visited our site on July 14 (Wednesday) between 12:50 pm and 1:30 pm. We are now closed until further noticed and have engaged a company to perform a deep cleaning at the site. Thank you for your support and all questions need to be directed to the department of health.”

The official Government websites are not yet showing the BP as an exposure site.

Starting tomorrow, the testing site at Ballan will re-open to help with the shires increased demand.

Bacchus Marsh Railway Station: 8am to 8pm
Ballan Railway Station: 10am to 5pm.

If you have any symptoms, however mild, you should get tested immediately.
Symptoms… Fever, Chills, Sweats, Cough, Sore throat, Shortness of breath, Runny nose, Loss of sense of taste or smell.
