News is filtering in of a positive COVID-19 case emerging in Bacchus Marsh.
It comes as a Sydney man travelling to South Australia visited a Ballan McDonalds restaurant & Service station last week. Now a teacher at Bacchus Marsh Grammar now testing positive.
Bacchus Marsh Grammer will be closing its two campuses after the positive test as most of the staff are now forced into isolation.
“Given the need for testing of virtually all staff and the need for additional cleaning, there will be no classes at the Woodlea or Maddingley Campus on Thursday and Friday 15-16 July for all students,” the school’s principal Andrew Neal said.
There were no children at the school on Monday due to a teacher staff day and the infected teacher had no interaction with children on Tuesday.
“At this stage, I would strongly advise that if any student does start to present with any of the recognised COVID symptoms they are tested as soon as possible as a matter of precaution.” Me Neal said.
The case is not yet in the official number posted from the Victorian Government, but the school has confirmed the case.
If you need to get tested for COVID-19, you can do so at the Ballan Train Station or The Melton Health testing centre.
