When life handed Maureen a new mortgage in middle age, she didn’t make lemonade – she auditioned for Millionaire Hot Seat!

The bubbly Bacchus Marsh mum is now grinning from ear to ear after a life-changing win you’ll be able to see on Channel Nine from 5pm Monday July 12 (4.30pm on Win Ballarat).

There was joy.  There were tears. There was even a COVID-friendly fist-bump from Eddie.

Students from Maureen’s workplace – St Patricks College Ballarat – are set to be glued to the telly, along with a long list of artists she has worked with in the Bacchus Marsh theatre scene.

The youngest child of seven says her dad inspired her love of learning – and while she wasn’t the kind of kid who read encyclopedias to kill the time; daily consumption of radio, TV and crosswords are giving her the edge now.

She says luck plays a huge part as well.

And by the way, do YOU know the capital of San Marino?
