The Melton Hospital is today a step closer with a major announcement.
A preferred site has been announced for the 24 hour cutting edge hospital.
Minister for Health Martin Foley has today announced the preferred site at Cobblebank ad 245-267 Ferris Road.
The preferred site will mean it is close to the Western Highway and the Cobblebank train station running on the Ballarat line.
This is an important step and part of the Labor Government’s $77.4 million plan to deliver a business case, purchase land and progress details planning on how the hospital will integrate.
Mr Foley said “Melton is one of the fastest growing communities in Australia – and its locals deserve a world class, 24 hour public hospital, right on their doorstep.”
“The new Melton Hospital will be located close to public transport, community sports and recreation facilities and near the Western Freeway – making it easy for residents in the outer west to access world-class healthcare.”
