It’s that time of year where Australians pause and remember on all those past and present who served for our country.

While there are options this year to observe a Dawn service, COVIDsafe protocols will again affect services this year.

Ballan

Ballan will host a Dawn service at 6:00am at McLean Reserve.

An afternoon service will start at 1:00pm with a Veterans Only March from the Ballan RSL to the Cenotaph.

All will be welcomed to the service at the cenotaph.

Bacchus Marsh

The Bacchus Marsh RSL have announced they will be going ahead with their Dawn service at 5:45am on the Village Green.

There will be limited numbers of service members and invited dignitaries.

There will be NO march or Gunfire breakfast due to COVIDsafe regulations.

Admittance to the RSL building is restricted to Members and their guests only.

Melton

Melton will not be holding a Dawn service this year, instead they have mentioned Caroline Springs as a host. The Caroline Springs RSL will be hosting their Dawn Service at 6am at the Caroline Springs War Memorial, Lake St, Caroline Springs.

You can pay your respects throughout the day in Melton by visiting the Melton Cenotaph, Caroline Springs War Memorial, Diggers Rest War Memorial or Aintree Walk of Honour.

Ballarat

Ballarat residents are invited to pay tribute to and remember those who have served at one of the many services being held across the municipality on Sunday 25 April 2021.

The two ANZAC Day services will go ahead: one at 6am and one at 10.30am with the march. Attendee numbers will be limited to make sure safe distancing can happen.

  • 6am Dawn Service at the Ballarat Cenotaph in Sturt Street, followed by Gunfire Breakfast at Ballarat RSL Midlands Golf Club. Buses will be provided
  • 10.30am ANZAC Day March, from Lyons Street North to Ballarat Cenotaph
  • 11am Commemorative Service at the Ballarat Cenotaph, followed by refreshments and Two-Up at Midlands Golf Club.

You will need to register your attendance by reserving a free ticket. You are asked to consider which event you would prefer to attend and only reserve a ticket for either the 6am Dawn Service or 10.30am march and service.

Reserve a ticket to the Dawn Service.

Reserve a ticket to the 10.30am march and 11am Commemorative Service.

For those wishing to pay their respects without going to a Dawn service, you are encouraged to light candles at 6am at the end of your driveway, garden or balcony and observe a minutes silence.
