Got a good idea to keep the local economy ticking?

The (Bendigo Bank) Community Bank Bacchus Marsh is offering $500 to every community organisation in the town and surrounding areas to spend locally.

“The last 12 months have been challenging for families, community groups, sporting clubs and our local businesses,” Chair Claire Sutherland said.

“And we want our community to organise an event or activity that reconnects their members and supports a local business.” 

Each organisation can choose how they would like to spend the funds.

Ms Sutherland said ideas included social functions using local suppliers, raffles with prizes or vouchers from local businesses or hiring entertainers.

Ms Sutherland said the branch’s continued growth in customers and banking business has made it possible to invest more than $700,000 into the community since 2014.
