‘The War with Grandpa’ starring Robert DeNiro, Christopher Walken and Uma Thurman is the next family-friendly flick screening at the Greendale Drive-in.

The Friday March 26 event gets going from 5pm with a Twilight Market, live music and kids’ activity arena including popcorn and face painting.

From 7.30pm there’ll be two Pixar shorts for preschoolers and toddlers, with the main feature starting at 8.30pm.

The War with Grandpa – dubbed “old school v new cool” – is a comedy about a grandfather who moves in with his children and grandchildren.

A young disgruntled grandson is displaced to the attic – and the battle begins.

“The buzz we get from the community is why we do this,” Greendale Social Club’s Kristin Sargeant said.

“The whole thing is pretty exciting.

“This is a great way for the community to come together.

“The kids can come together and the parents can enjoy some live entertainment and food trucks. There is something for everybody.

“I also want to thank Moorabool Council for a community grant, which has really helped us out.”

The drive-in night is now set to become a twice-a-year event each early-Autumn and late-Spring.

Ms Sargeant said the group was predicting around 500 people would show up – and as of today (Monday), only 20 car tickets were left.

The gates at Egans Reserve close at 7pm and sunset is at 7.27pm on the night.

Tickets are $50 per car (up to five people) and can be booked HERE.

‘Walk-ins’ will also be accepted on the night at a cost of $10 per head.
