A 73-year-old driver and his 71-year-old female passenger from the Melton suburb of Weir Views have been flown to hospital with serious injuries after a bizarre accident on the Mansfield-Woods Point Rd.

Police have now released images of a man they wish to question – and his car.

The couple were in a Toyota Landcruiser, towing a caravan around 11.15am when they were overtaken by another Landcruiser towing a trailer.

Police believe the couple’s vehicle was forced off the road, where it caught fire.

The Weir Views couple were in a red Landcruiser 80 series towing a white Scenic Galaxy caravan.

The other vehicle was a black Landcruiser towing a bright green ski boat on a black trailer.

Investigators believe the black Landcruiser overtook up to eight cars before the incident.

We’re keen to speak to this man who we believe can assist with an investigation into a car and caravan fire in Mansfield…
