A Maddingley man has been arrested overnight after a bizarre incident on the Western Freeway – and blowing more than twice the legal blood-alcohol limit.
Police were called to the Western Highway at Hopetoun Park after a white Holden Commodore collided with a black Nissan sedan around 11.20pm (Friday).
Luckily, no one was injured
A short time later the Commodore was then seen continuing west-bound in the east-bound lanes.
Police located the vehicle and tried intercepting the car at Pentland Hills when the driver lost control and hit the barriers.
The 37-year-old was arrested at the scene in relation to conduct endangering life and returned an evidentiary breath test result of .108.
He is assisting police with enquiries.
CFA crews from Melton and the Pentland Hills group attended both crash scenes.
Anyone who with information or dashcam vision is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or long onto www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
