Many Victorians took to the roads over the Christmas break and with more traffic comes more driving offences.

Victoria Police detected over 14,200 traffic offences and 1332 criminal offences as part of Operation Roadwise, which ran from December 18 through until January 6th.

6201 people were caught speeding, with 142 of those speeding fines issues in Melton and 68 in Moorabool.

Melton also fared poorly in unregistered vehicles, with 49 detected.

Melton recorded 21 drug drivers and 21 unlicensed drivers.

15 Melton drivers were also caught without wearing a seatbelt.
