The Ballarat train line will se 125 new train services a week from the end of January 31.

Minister for Transport Infrastructure Jacinta Allan said it was part of a redesign of the state’s timetables.

“We’re delivering the benefits of the Ballarat Line Upgrade – giving the Ballarat community more frequent trains than ever and improving access to jobs, healthcare and education for the growing communities along the line,” she said.

45 new train services will be added to the Ballarat line during peak times, giving passengers a train every 20-minutes. Trains will run every 40-minutes during the day

The extra trains will also service new stations in Melbourne’s rapidly growing west, with hundreds of new services scheduled to stop at Cobblebank (previously known as Toolern), Rockbank and Deer Park.

Buninyong State Labor MP Michaela Settle said the new timetable would improve reliability and flexibility for the Ballarat community by delivering more frequent trains – especially during peak commute times.

The new timetables will be available at from January 8.

Buses will replace trains for the final works on the Ballarat Line Upgrade from Monday 28 December to Saturday January 30.
