Moorabool Shire Council has another two new councillors – Rod Ward and Moira Berry – following the provisional count of preferences in the East ward, which includes Bacchus Marsh.

After preferences were distributed, Ward was first over the line, followed by Berry, 2020 Mayor David Edwards and existing councillor Tonia Dudzik.

After technical difficulties, the VEC website was updated at 9.45am today (Thursday). You can check it out here.

Rod Ward is the head of Greyhounds Ballarat and a former Chief Executive of AFL Goldfields.

Moira Berry is a sales executive as well as the co-ordinator for the Bacchus Marsh section of the Moorabool and Central Highlands Power Alliance which is pushing for underground – rather than overhead – transmission lines. She has also been in volunteer leadership positions at Bacchus Marsh Grammar for more than 20 years.

The results – 9am today – follow other ‘unofficial’ results in Central ward for Paul Tatchell, Woodlands ward for Ally Munari and West Moorabool ward for Tom Sullivan.
