Police at Bacchus Marsh have fined two men from separate households after they told officers they were heading to Ballarat to see family.

The driver also returned a positive roadside drug test and was charged with provided false information.

It comes as police have issued 26 fines in the last 24 hours to individuals breaching the Chief Health Officer’s directions.

Meanwhile, Victoria has recorded just one new COVID19 case overnight.

Moorabool and its regional neighbours remain on zero active cases – while the City of Melton’s active case numbers sit at 9.

Health and Human Services figures released yesterday show postcodes 3337 and 3338 both have two active cases.
