A P-plater and her four passengers have been treated by ambulance crews crews after her sedan left the road a cause a small fire in Moorabool’s north-west overnight.

Emergency crews were called to Ballarat-Daylesford Rd at 6.25pm (Monday).

An 18-year-old woman and a teenage boy were taken to Ballarat Base Hospital – both in a stable condition with minor injuries.

Two teenage girls were taken to St John of God Ballarat – also both in a stable condition with minor injuries.

Ambulance Victoria said one other person was assessed at the scene.

The incident was initially reported as a car on fire as a result of an accident. It burnt a small patch of roadside grass.

Witnesses said the car left the road to avoid an animal but hit equipment nearby.

The CFA said fire volunteers were called in from Glen Park and Bungaree.

The scene was under control by 6.40pm.
