A 26-year-old Darley man is among three people who have been charged, after allegedly firing paintball-style pellets overnight.

Police in Werribee received multiple reports of a black Mazda sedan driving around with the occupants allegedly using a gel blaster firing pellets towards road workers and people at service stations between 9.30 and 11pm Thursday.

Uniform police and highway patrol patrolled the area before officers found a car travelling on Cherry St Werribee which matched the description at 11.05pm.

Police intercepted the car and arrested three men without incident.

Members found pellets and a loaded gel blaster in the back of the car.

The Darley man – plus two men from Werribee, aged 22 and 23 have all been charged with being a prohibited person possessing a firearm.

The trio were bailed to appear before Werribee Magistrates’ Court on April 22.

No one was injured
