Police believe a combination of excessive speed, a car on the wrong side of the road and an overtaking mishap led to this afternoon’s crash at Kurunjang.

Emergency services were called just after 3pm to Highfield Way, where the car has lost control and slammed sideways into a tree.

It is believed up to five males were in one of the cars.

Paramedics have treated three people – including a teenager taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital and another teen taken to Western Health in Footscray.
