Melton World of Learning is the latest education facility to be closed due to a positive case of COVID-19. It’s the second early learning facility to be closed in as many weeks after Happy Feet Childcare in Melton West was closed last week due to the pandemic.

On Thursday 6th August, Melton World of Learning sent out a message to all parents and guardians about the confirmed COVID-19 case and have confirmed the centre will be closed from 7th August until further notice.

The centre has contacted DHHS in relation to the positive test , but has yet to receive a response.

“While we do not take this decision lightly and appreciate the impact it has, the safety of our children, families and team members must remain our number one priority”

One concerned parent told us, “It’s scary to think that my child may have been exposed to coronavirus, I’ll be watching her closely over the next two weeks.”

If you have any connection to the centre, you should get tested if you feel unwell.

If you are connected to the centre and do test positive for COVID-19, you are asked to inform he centre as part of contact tracing procedures.

If you need to be tested, Djerriwarrh Health Services has a drive-through clinic in Barries Rd Melton, open 10.30am-6pm weekdays and 9am-12pm weekends.

People can also book a test at Darley Medical Centre on 5367 5000.
