Yesterday’s under 300 new cases result was short lived, with 363 new COVID-19 cases identified overnight.

Moorabool recorded no new cases overnight, the active cases in Moorabool is steady with 3.
Neighbours, Melton LGA recorded 17 new cases which makes a total of 124 active. Ballarat numbers are the same as yesterday with 19 total and 8 active. Hepburn still showing no active cases.

Coles in Melton South has had to undergo a deep clean with one staff member testing positive and isolated. The store is now operating as normal.

Face masks will be required to be worn by all Melbourne Metro and Mitchell Shire residents when outside of their home, even if you are in a regional area for one of the approved reasons. From Wednesday 22nd July 11.59pm the face mask requirement will be enforced by Victoria Police with $200 infringement applied to those not complying.

There are four reasons that you can leave home:

  • Shopping for food or other essential items
  • To provide care giving, for compassionate reasons or to seek medical treatment
  • For exercise (outdoor exercise only, with only one other person or members of your household, you cannot go to a Stage 2 area for exercise.)
  • Work or study if you cannot work or study from home
    Otherwise, you MUST stay home.
