Moorabool Shire has recorded its second confirmed COVID19 case in as many days, bringing the total to five since the pandemic began.

Two of those cases are active. The Department of Health and Human Services has not released data on where those people live or work.

It comes as children return to Moorabool schools – and others across country Victoria – for the start of term three.

Meanwhile the neighbouring City of Melton rockets up to 127 overall – with a record 51 active – putting it inside the top-10 for known infection cases in Victoria.

The figures are worse again in Wyndham, the third most-affected Council area  – which has recorded 306 cases of the virus so far, including 209 that are still active.

There has been no change in Ballarat (11 overall), Hepburn (2) or the Golden Plains Shire (1).

The Macedon Ranges has recorded 10 cases all up, with one still active.

All up, Victoria has recorded 3967 people with the coronavirus. Of those, 1612 are active.
