Local Government Area figures show that Melton has one new case of COVID19 overnight. Moorabool holds steady with just 3 total cases since the pandemic began.
It is believed the latest case attributed to Melton LGA is from the Kororoit Creek Primary School site in Burnside, where a child has tested positive to COVID19.
The centre will be closed to all students and staff initially for at least 3 days to undergo deep cleaning.
“The Department of Health and Human Services is currently working to identify and speak to all close contacts of the student who tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).” A statement from the City of Melton Facebook page said.
The closure will allow DHHS to undergo a full risk assessment at the kindergarten.
The Kindergarten is operated by Kororoit Creek primary School.
“If you have an appointment at the centre this week, our team will be in contact with you to offer your consultation at another centre or a telehealth appointment while the kindergarten is closed.”
The number of active cases however has dropped for the second day running, from 20 down to 19 down to 18 today.
