Ballarat Criminal Investigation Unit detectives are currently interviewing a man about an SUV that smashed into a Bacchus Marsh home yesterday (Friday).

Police said the man had spent the night in hospital and was now in custody.

The alarm was raised at 2.05pm when a vehicle damaged the front entrance to a single storey brick home in OHagan Place, off Main Street.

Bacchus Marsh police, SES volunteers, paramedics and CFA personnel from Melton and Bacchus Marsh attended.
