A man has been driven to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition, after a car slammed through the front door of a home close to the main street of Bacchus Marsh.

Paramedics say the alarm was raised at 2.05pm today (Friday) to O’Hagan Place.

Bacchus Marsh State Emergency Service volunteers were at the scene for 10 minutes before police took over.

The SES said the car ended up at the front door of the single-storey home.

The CFA said personnel from Bacchus Marsh and Melton attended to extract someone they believed was trapped in the car.

The area is being treated as a crime scene.
