Eventful day for Emergency Services.

Today has been a busy day for emergency services workers throughout the region. Earlier, we reported that up to 11,000 homes were without power after a fault caused widespread outages.

Today has also seen 3 separate fires hit the emergency app, A structure fire at Griffith St, a structure fire at Grant St,

The good news is that the Grant St and Griffith St call outs were both false alarms linked to power outages at around 5am this morning.

At approximately 12:45pm, the CFA was called out to a bushfire at Lerderderg Gorge Rd, Darley. Upon arrival, the CFA were told by the land owner it was a burn off that had spread to a nearby tree and was under control.

There has also been traffic light failures at Gisborne Rd and a rescue involving Police & SES at Station St, Maddingley.
