A State Government valued at $2.5 million will pave the way for 51 new jobs for 51 additional staff for up to 6 months at the Moorabool Shire.

The Moorabool Council was successful in obtaining the grant as part of the $500 million, Working for Victoria initiative.

With COVID-19 restrictions causing many job losses and financial strain, the initiative is designed to employ locals who have lost their jobs.
Moorabool CEO Derek Madden said, “Council is focusing on recruiting for roles which are needed to provide critical services across the Shire to ensure that it can respond to local community needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

“The 51 job we are looking to fill are very varied, and include roles such as general labouring, and administrative and project roles. The extra work being done will help Council deliver better outcomes and services for our community, so is a real win-win situation,” Mr Madden said.
