The Australian Government has released the COVID Safe app with much publicity. The Australian government wants 10 Million Australians to install the app so we can better predict COVID cases and pockets. Privacy has been the major hurdle with that app, so we asked the question of locals.
“Have you Installed the COVIS SAfe app?, Yes / No, Why?”
73% of the respondents said they have installed the app, while 27% said no.
There was mixed reason too,
Here’s some of the responses.
“This app when installed, interferes with the cpms for some diabetics, which is both dangerous and
“No, Cause I’ve got enough other useless crap on my phone I don’t use now….”
“Yes. If its one step closer to checking up on friends and family then I’m on board”
“Yes Even though I’m not into this type of thing I think it’s in the best interest of the country to resolve this virus ASAP. There are so many people who have lost their jobs and out of work and had to close their businesses and if we all do our part hopefully we can nip it in the bud and get rid of it A.S.A.P.”
“No I don’t trust the government in any way shape or form”
“No… worried about privacy!”
“Yep. Facebook knows where we are all the time so do the mobile towers, this is no different. If it helps with identifying virus affected people early then it can only be a good thing and a help to small businesses like mine that are suffering terribly.”
Moorabool figures would make the Australian Government happy, If Australia has a 73% uptake as the Moorabool respondents do, their app will be installed on 18,250,000 devices.
